IAAGT BIENNIAL CONFERENCE

17th - 22nd of MAY 2022, COUNTY CLARE, IRELAND

The 2022  IAAGT Conference is excited to announce the Research Posters Dialogue: Edges of Exile and Belonging.

At the upcoming conference in County Clare, Ireland, we will be having an opportunity for individuals and groups to share their research work through posters.

These posters will be available throughout the conference. However, they will be spotlighted during a Research Posters Dialogue session which will occur during a workshop session.

During this session, poster presenters will be available with their posters to engage in dialogue with those who attend about their research. As with most opportunities for dialogue, there will not be a specified topic or expected outcome for such dialogues. Instead, the dialogues will emerge from the engagement between research poster presenters and their respective audience.

As an experiment around radical inclusiveness and dialogue, research posters will not be peer-reviewed prior to the conference. Instead, any form of “peer review” will come from what is explored and actively engaged between the poster presenter and their respective audience.

Research posters for the conference can be about research work that is ongoing, near-completion or fully completed. Any and all research methodologies and approaches are welcomed to be presented as a poster, including (but not limited to) qualitative, quantitative, mixed methods, relational, collaborative inquiry, action research, descriptive or interpretative phenomenological, grounded theory, and ethnographic approaches. Any and all areas of research are welcomed to be presented as a poster, including (but not limited to) therapy/counseling, supervision/training, assessment, education, organizational development, coaching, community development, and public health. In continuing the theme of the conference, research posters and their connected dialogues are encouraged to emphasize or reference alienation/exile and belonging/connectedness in terms of individuals, groups, communities, society, and the larger ecological field.

Researchers should do their best to have posters not exceed a size of 122 cm x 92 cm (48″ x 36″). Posters should be able to lay flat and open, in the case that posters are placed on easels for presentation. We encourage creative and expressive forms to convey the research being shared. Although researchers can have posters that have the standard design arrangement of scientific research posters, they are also encouraged to have creative designs that do not necessarily conform to the traditional introduction-methods-data-results presentation style.

To be included at the conference, researchers should submit the following information:

  • Researcher name
  • Title of research/poster
  • Brief description of the research being presented (no more than 200 words)

These details will appear on the conference website so that Gestalt research is visibly supported in our conference.

Post conference, a pdf of your research poster will be required. This will be included in an IAAGT research archive for others to access.

The deadline to submit a research poster for inclusion at the conference is January 1st, 2022. Please submit proposals using the link to the Cognito form below.
